M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at Linköping Institute of Technology, Mr. Berglund has been a professional within the field of intellectual property for more than 25 years. During the years 1981-1984 he worked as a patent examiner at the Swedish Patent Office and during the years 1984-1986 he was a patent attorney at another Swedish patent agency. After that, he returned to the office side, however this time to the European Patent Office in Munich, where he was a patent examiner in mechanical Examination and Opposition Divisions during the years of 1986-1994.
Mr. Berglund is a European Patent Attorney and is also an authorised Trademark Attorney before the Community Trademark Office OHIM. He has been a board member of the Association of Swedish Patent Attorneys.
Mr. Berglund has prosecuted a large number of patent-, design-, and trademark cases. Furthermore, he has experience from many different stages in the prosecution, such as oppositions at the European Patent Office. He has drafted patent applications pertaining to widely diverse technical areas including power and heating technology, combustion technology, separation technology, vehicle technology, milking technologies, gas applications, computer technology, industrial machines and cellulose technology.
Mr. Berglund has been with BJERKÉNS since 1994.
